All about THE Bath Chorus
THE Bath Chorus is a mixed-voice Choir started by founder conductor Grenville Jones in January 2009. The choir rehearses every Monday from 7.45pm to 9.45pm at St Bart's Church which is in Oldfield Park, Bath at the top of King Edward Road. In the past few months the Choir has raised many thousands of pounds for UK charities. It has sung with the RAF Central Band in Bath Abbey, and with Hayley Westenra, Aled Jones and Rhydian Roberts to 1000 plus audiences.
Prospective new members are always welcome to come along and meet us. If you are new to the area and missing your old choir - then come along and see if we are the new choir for you! If you are one of the many people who are thinking about joining a choir - don't be shy - come along and meet THE Bath Chorus.
Once you have decided that you like us there will be a (painless - we promise you!) voice test with Grenville. The Choir has a strong social base, social events, home concerts and tours are very much part of life of the THE Bath Chorus. Singing should always stretch the choir technically to achieve the highest standard but MUST be enjoyable for choir members and audiences alike.
The Choir may be augmented on occasions by additional singers or groups as the concert occasion demands. There are also shared concerts with Grenville's other groups, such as THE Bath Male Choir.

Pauline Shelbourn organised a concert at Minety Church, near Malmesbury with THE Bath Chorus; it raised £1,300 for Church funds. She writes...
"They say it is almost impossible to please everyone but in May, THE Bath Chorus came to Minety church and wowed the entire audience. Only a handful of the audience (squeezed into every corner of the church), had heard the chorus before. After a programme of folk songs, classics, modern musical and church pieces and (not forgetting the audience participation song) we were kept spellbound. Thanks to you Grenville and the Bath Chorus for giving us a night that will not be forgotten."
